How to act online

When you're using the Internet, it's important to remember that there are real people on the other end of every interaction. Just as you would in person, please be respectful and considerate of others when you're online.

Here are a few tips to help you act responsibly online:

- Think before you post. Once something is posted online, it's there forever. Consider how your words might be interpreted before you hit "send" or "post."

- Don't be a bully. Just as in the offline world, bullying is never okay. If you see someone being bullied online, don't participate and report it to a trusted adult if you can.

- Don't share personal information. Be careful about what personal information you share online. Once it's out there, anyone can see it and it can be difficult to take back.

- Be aware of your online reputation. What you post online becomes part of your permanent record. Think about how potential employers or colleges might view your online
